Pat Metheny

My husband is a big fan of jazz guitarist, Pat Metheny. He was in concert last weekend, but seats were pretty expensive. A friend found a contest in the Lansing paper to win free tickets. Well, both he and I entered..... and I won the grand prize! Two great seats and the opportunity to meet him after the show.  Here is my smiling hubbie with his guitar hero. I took the picture or it would be a little clearer!

Under the Sea Block

I picked up this shelf at a rummage sale for $1 over the summer. I thought it would be great for showcasing a crazy quilt block. I am starting an Under the Sea Round Robin soon and decided that is what I will put in the frame. Here it is before embellishment. I can't wait to see what the others do to bring it to life.

Ludington Wedding Pics

Here a a few pics taken at the wedding of our dear friends Paula and Rob. Married on the shores of Lake Michigan and the Little Sable Lighthouse.  I am so proud of the pics by husband captured for them. He had a hard time returning Paula's camera. Little does he know I have bought home a nice digital SLR for Christmas! Don't tell!

Halloween in Ludington

MOver the weekend we were in Ludington, a wonderful city on the eastern coast of Lake Michigan. Our dear friends Paula and Rob got married in front of a Lighthouse there. My hubbie was the official photographer but used Paula's camera, so we don't have pics yet. He used his camera to snap a few shots around town.

Vintage Crazy Quilt

These pics are from the quilt show I attended last Friday in Durand, MI. This is a vintage crazy quilt. It was on sale for $100, I was tempted, but other expenses are more important. I did take some shots to study the stitching.

Quilt Show Favs

Here are a few of my favorites from the Durand Quilt Show.
First a quilt made from both ends of 32 men's neckties.

A simple pattern, but I loved the colors on this one.

A stack and whack, again great color.

Beautiful Applique Quilt. I couldn't stand back far enough to get the whole quilt. Here are some slices.

A wonderful Santa applique quilt.

A close-up.

Hard to see, but alternating blocks are embroidered tea cups.

Crazy Wearable Art

There were not too many Crazy quilts at the show, a couple vintage pieces I will post later. These are a couple vests that were CQ'ed, and another woven with ribbons.

October 1

Went to a quilt show today in Durand Michigan. Just as a teaser, here are a couple Halloween quilts. I will post more pics in the coming week. I will also announce my giveaway tomorrow.
