Warm Day for Photos

I used the cropped closeup and transferred it to fabric for the focus of this block. It is my next Round Robin project.

Chloe and Ruff

While in Ohio, Chloe found she had a new "cousin", my sister's dog Ruff. Chloe managed to wrangle and keep his chew bone despite her size deficit.

Happy Halloween 2011

Well, I did not complete my daily "Blogtoberfest" posts. But I did post more this month than any so far. I think I had good excuses, starting a new part time job and going to Indiana 2x to care for my aging Father.... I'm leaving you with some spooky inspirations.... And before  you say anything. Chloe only wore her pumpkin suit for about 20 minutes total. She doesn't look too happy with it does she?

The Kids

Our two dogs tolerate each other, but don't usually stay too close together. Chloe is like a pesty younger sister, and Drizzy usually just ignores her. But last night, I actually caught them lying side by side napping.....

My Sewing Nook

On this couch is where I do my sewing. Below the Ott light is a table with many of my supplies, cans of trims, threads, etc. Chloe is my constant companion, and either is next to me or on the chair by the window looking out. Here she is in a rare cowboy pose on the couch.

Bath Day

Yes, even in winter bi-weekly baths must go on. Here is Chloe after her bath, wrapped in a towel with a space heater keeping her warm.... She prefers not to blow dry!

Something for me

I took a little break from Crazy Quilting today and machine embroidered the back yoke of a shirt. It will be perfect for walking the dog in the cooler weather. Chloe likes it too.

Another cute pic of Chloe.... just because I can!

I am getting pretty close to my 100th post and I will be posting information about a giveaway sometime this week.

September Sunny Day

Today was a beautiful day. The evenings are cooling and the sun is setting earlier, reminding us of Summer's end. One thing wonderful about being a dog owner is that it gives me excuses to get outside more. Today was no exception. Unfortunately, Chloe does not take pictures well due to her color. I managed to get a few, but her contrast is so that she comes out a bit blurry. Here are she and Drizzy playing in the yard. She is teaching him break dancing.

Yard sales are also coming to an end and I have been remiss about posting my finds. Here is one, the pedestal was had for $1. I made the"globe" out of a bowling ball and attached jewels and mirrors with clear caulk.

Bichon Babe

Well, I never said she wasn't confident. This is how she naps  under my desk. I wonder if there is a doggie version of Playboy?

Grandpa's New Friend

We took Chloe down with us when we went to visit my dad in Indiana. He has been having a hard time dealing with my step-mother being in a nursing home. He really got along well with Chloe, and was just tickled that she jumped on the bed with him to take his nap.

Saturday Dog Day Afternoon

I had a nice surprise yesterday afternoon when a good friend and coworker stopped by with her boyfriend. We had a nice chat and eventually moved out to the front porch. She got out her camera and snapped these pics of the "kids" for me... Thanks Paula!

Take Chloe to Work Day

I have been experimenting with taking Chloe to work with me. So far so good, I got her a little crate at a garage sale last week. When I brought it home she went right in. I think she must have been crate trained by her previous owner. I was pleased that it was a positive space for her. I made her a little pad for the inside and got a few toys. Today was her second day at work. She has been so good. She rarely makes a peep and most clients don't even know she is there. If they are ok with dogs I let her out and she usually jumps in their lap. This works especially well with teens, they tend to let their guards down more. Even though she doesn't do much she is very tired when she gets home and sleeps quite well.... I am fortunate, even though the office is in a busy area the back parking lot backs up to woods so I can take her out for a walk every few hours. The walk is good for both of us, keeps me awake and alert and gives both of us a little exercise. Here is a pic of her crate and her half shut-eye nap. She had her head in a soft ring toy she uses as a pillow.

Ain't she cute

Ok, I'm a new mom. I have to brag and take pictures. You have to admit, she is adorable.

Meet Chloe

Yup, she's ours.
We brought home our new family member on Saturday night. I kept her given name and added Michaela as a middle name in memory of my son, Michael. She is 4 years old, lively, affectionate, and we love her already!
