Vintage Crazy Quilt

These pics are from the quilt show I attended last Friday in Durand, MI. This is a vintage crazy quilt. It was on sale for $100, I was tempted, but other expenses are more important. I did take some shots to study the stitching.

Quilt Show Favs

Here are a few of my favorites from the Durand Quilt Show.
First a quilt made from both ends of 32 men's neckties.

A simple pattern, but I loved the colors on this one.

A stack and whack, again great color.

Beautiful Applique Quilt. I couldn't stand back far enough to get the whole quilt. Here are some slices.

A wonderful Santa applique quilt.

A close-up.

Hard to see, but alternating blocks are embroidered tea cups.

Crazy Wearable Art

There were not too many Crazy quilts at the show, a couple vintage pieces I will post later. These are a couple vests that were CQ'ed, and another woven with ribbons.

October 1

Went to a quilt show today in Durand Michigan. Just as a teaser, here are a couple Halloween quilts. I will post more pics in the coming week. I will also announce my giveaway tomorrow.

Rita's Oriental Block

I have been working on another Oriental Round Robin. This month I have Rita's block. She chose a red color scheme and her block is quite lovely. I am the second to work on it. Candji was first and added some lovely embellishments.

I decided to concentrate on the left side. I first added some fans to frame the geisha, some beaded cherry blossoms. I then decided to add another peacock, since Rita jokingly said I could practice one on her block. Little does she know...... I am still wanting to put some finishing touches on the fans, but need to stop so there will be room for the final two ladies to add something!
